TLDR: Girltrash! All Night Long plays it a bit too safe and lacks edge, but itās fun if youāre drinking.

Itās like Lesbian La La Land (this comparison is entirely accurate as I have seen the first 20 minutes of La La Land) meets some kind of road trip / zany-night comedy like Wayneās World or Harold & Kumar.
But itās not really as zany or outrageous or funny as those comedies, and itās all a bit too predictable and familiar and lacking in depth or conflict. Everything gets resolved a bit too easily and pretty much as youād expect.
Thatās not to say itās not a medium amount of fun, and might even be one of those guilty pleasure films that you end up watching more than youād expect⦠kind of like a Mortal Kombat or something like that.
In both cases, drinking improves the experience.
Really though, I think a lot of the enjoyment comes from recognizing various actors from other works who pop up (The L Word, South of Nowhere, etcā¦). Itās kind of a fan movie for fans of those, and the original web series, and if you donāt know those actors or arenāt invested in those characters then it might hold less appeal.
FWIW, the original web series, despite being clearly lower budget, felt a bit more raw and less polished, and I think I almost preferred that (itās very short and free so Iād definitely watch it first).
It wasnāt a musical though.
On the plus side, my kids have been obsessed with The Greatest Showman and so Iāve had āThis is the greatest show!ā stuck in my head all week. But now I have āDonāt shit on my dreams!ā stuck in my head, which is possibly an improvement
