I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Amanina games generally follow a type but Chuchel is still a very different game from Samorost. It’s not as dense with detail as Samorost 3, but it doesn’t have to be since it’s a different experience: the focus is on the action more than on the environment.
You might, however, be disappointed by the previous Samorosts. They really took the series to a whole new level with 3.
That’s exactly what I did, thanks for reminding me I have it! It struck me as a 7/10 puzzle game when it came out and I wasn’t particularly in the mood for that at the time, so I skipped it, but I was planning to try it out once it became free.
So currently my backlog consists of Obduction, Divide by Sheep and Ethereal, with Chuchel currently in progress, but instead I’m just playing Minecraft again all day. Even when I plan to make a home in a small topographical cul-de-sac hidden beneath the jungle canopy, the siren song of the underground remains irresistible, and I get side-tracked constantly hauling tons of gold out of lava-flooded caverns.
