I, too, have just finished Wolfenstein TNO.
Coming from a position of not particularly being in to shooters; I generally enjoyed it, although I’m not really versed enough in FPS gameplay for it not to be a bit stop-start (and, well, give me the option of stealth and I will spend most of the game slowly crouch-walking forward).
As always, boss/robot fights are a bit one-note (though Mecha-Deathshead is pleasantly intense if straightforward), best parts are just big rooms with multiple pathways and a clutch o’ Nazis able to be mobile - breaking into the London Nautica comes to mind.
Though upon finishing it, I feel like…you don’t get much for finishing? With so many collectibles you’d think you’d unlock something - the enigma code modes don’t sound very interesting, the gold does nothing; I was hoping at least for a new game+ with your perks carrying on.
Worth a play again sometime, but Uber difficulty will probably just be an exercise in repetition; so I’m a bit disappointed that I couldn’t just jump back into an old chapter for funsies with new stuff, but I can’t complain after quite a good, efficient campaign I suppose.
A bit focused on slightly generic science facilities as the game goes on; I was surprised that you spend all of a minute outside on the lunar base, shoot 3 drones and go back inside.
Now on to…Devil May Cry 3. Why not.
