Made a point of playing other games:
With Hustle Cat, judgment is suspended til I finish at least a playthrough, and it stirred what seemed some potentially interesting thoughts about VNs in general.
Scanner Sombre, I’m not so sure about that one. The WIT clearly said that it’s not as good as the reference titles in the genre, and indeed I find myself enjoying it less than them.
It looks cool and all, but, say, the island in Dear Esther or the home in Gone Home were more interesting to me. Because of visualization used, after a while it feels like samey same, and the jump-scares are, well, not very scary, more like unsettling, and like many other games in this genre, it’s more the sound design that carries them.
But then I see some player make some cool move I didn’t know about, or read a tip somewhere, and it gets my mind going about ways to use heroes in ways I hadn’t thought of yet.
Thing is, plenty of games that have their own official wiki (the survival’em ups come to mind), so it’s not like those are entirely dead.
Anyway, I found this one through lparchive.org, hopefully it’s not completely useless to you?
