Yeah their first 2 albums are amazing. Along with loads of other things from the post-punk/new wave era. The exact nomenclature of both being slightly confusing as ever. It’s basically my main stream of musical influence in what I listen to, but the B-52s had missed me as dancey art-pop for some reason. I love Love Shack and always mentally bracket it with Dee-lite even though they’re not similar.
I know 2 Talk Talk songs It’s My Life and Life’s What You Make It, though they’ve always seemed like runner’s up to Depeche Mode. Who kinda did the opposite of the B-52s in going from cheery to moody. But yknow Talk Talk stand up to a Goth night in my youth, all Depeche Mode, The Cure, Joy Division, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Killing Joke, Sisters of Mercy etc.
