Yep. In Greece we use dried giant beans similar to the lima bean variety I think (though not 100% certain). Since they are bought dry, we need to soak them overnight in water. In the UK, I can cook the same dish (as per link) using canned butter beans and they are equally tasty and you do not run the risk of undercooking them. Any bean you like would do.
I always cook something easy. Meat, porridge, raw vegetables. But sometimes I get hard and bake bread or pies.
Corned beef stew. Potatoes, carrots, onions, some seasoning, and of course some big chunks of corned beef.
