Hispanic Attorney: Objects to Black Lives Matter and progress and tolerance. Kind of interesting in that she thinks the left is dominating national conversation. Also interesting that a Hispanic woman is so transparently racist.
Scientist: Muslims are scary. Worried about friends thinking he’s a meathead. Doesn’t realize he is a meathead.
Occupy Protestor: Votes against own policies on the theory that if things get bad enough the Republicans will implode. Batshit crazy.
Casino supervisor: Thinks multi-millionaire Trump isn’t primarily for the interests of the rich - that is, Trump’s own interests.
Yoga teacher: The protest vote you mentioned. Prefers Bernie over Trump, but voting for Trump because reasons. Unhappy with Obama but somehow unable to grasp that Trump would be far, far worse from his perspective.
Biomedical engineer: Combination of Occupy Protestor and Yoga Teacher. Doesn’t like Hillary’s position with the establishment, thinks blowing up the world will somehow solve everything. Views Trump as another Hitler, but wants to vote for Hitler so Hitler will be defeated. Also batshit crazy.
Gay Muslim Student: Feels insulted because people assume he’ll vote against Trump’s rabid anti-Muslim rhetoric. Sillies! OK with banning Muslim immigration because reasons. Mostly wants to break ties with Saudi Arabia (understandable, actually), and sees Trump as the most direct route to that.
College Professor: Teaches college but makes basic grammatical mistakes. Hates “Political Correctness” on campus, uses term “Social Justice Warriors,” both of which are usually red flags of someone deeply sexist and racist, claims of being “liberal left” not withstanding. Says it’s not a vote for Trump, says it’s a vote against everyone he hates, doesn’t see what this transparently says about his own views.
Evangelical Pastor: Basically, an anti-establishment vote.
Early Retiree: unhappy about not being employable. Claims to be liberal, but is voting Trump because people assume an old, white male will vote Trump, so that’s what he’s doing. Thinks Trump could be as bad as Hitler, thinks voting for Hitler makes sense.
… I have to remark at this point that Trump is no Hitler, but he sure does get the Hitler comparisons a lot from his voters.
Manager: sees through Trump, will vote for him anyway to demonstrate that Trump can’t actually accomplish the crap he says he wants. Not as loony as the prior voting-against-interests voters, but still pretty silly.
Indian American attorney: Wants to restrict immigration to keep out the dirty poor. This is not as hypocritical as it sounds for an immigrant from India; India’s rich are very deeply steeped in class.
