Yeah I’ve had the pop-up, it’s hilarious. It’s like “Your mum, forum… YOUR MUM…” (ah childhood insults, “Your mum” was just all that needed to be said).
The equivalent with TWW2 would be to limit the army size, i.e. number of units of armies with more than a certain number of elite units, I suspect. That could actually work pretty great, especially on higher difficulties, because of the extra costs of fielding more armies.
I.e. do you want an army with 10 elite units, or 20 non-elite ones? or 4 elite ones and 12 non-elite? And so on. That might actually be more interesting than other forced army comp methods.
If you chase too much, because they literally flee extra-fast (and thus extra-far), your formation will fall apart, and suddenly there will be rallying Skaven everywhere, and whilst you’ll still probably win at that point, you’ll take a lot of needless casualties, potentially an awful lot, so it’s like, let them leave, return to formation, kill 'em when they come back.
Plagueclaw catapults and warp cannons MUST DIE though. Plagueclaws are actually more dangerous than Hellcannons (now nerfed into oblivion) were in TWW1 one. Warp cannons, as they require LOS, vary between being semi-laughable and “OH SHIT NOOOOOOOOOO!”. The computer usually screws up non-beastman/wood elf ambushes, but I remember once coming out of ambush animation to see my army being broadsided by an apparently endless line of Warp cannons. We won because it had screwed up - it hadn’t put them at max range (it would have been incredibly brutal if he had), but that was pretty horrifying.
