Only dabbled so far. Got distracted by Throgg in Warhammer One so I’m giving that a send off by shouting at/eating everything before I move onto Two.
They’re not joking about the difficulty on that campaign mind, it’s been stressful for much of it. Interestingly it’s the only one I’ve played where the random events seem to routinely outright bone you, and that combined with aggressive dickish neighbours and no reliable income makes for a tough time, even with the instant confederation stuff. I managed to subdue most of the tribes early but the dwarves and Kislev were relentless in hating on me for some reason.
Had to adopt a very laissez faire approach to my settlements as they routinely got razed. Spent a lot of time away from home sacking my opponent’s cities while they sacked mine, which felt quite in character. After maxing out regeneration skills to allow for faster campaigning I decided to ignore the shitty North completely and went around the world to sack some big cities, which I should have done sooner really. There’s little reason to develop Norsca while it’s criss crossed with warlords. I ignored the hunting as it seemed a bit indulgent while fighting for my life but in hindsight the cash injection would have more than offset the cost. Leaving them just now, but very tempted to do a Wulfrik campaign and just hunt and raid around the world and sod the rest of the objectives .
Anyhoo came back from my voyage with the funds to build a better infrastructure in Norsca, paid for a stack of trolls then smashed everyone’s face in. Felt good and clever, for a troll at any rate. Less clever was eating Wulfrik before I confederated but again, in character innit. Because the Norsca delay Archaon’s arrival the realms of man are actually in reasonable shape, which is a first. They won’t be for long but I’m looking forward to doing the crushing myself on this occasion.
