Do you need to do the path to the centre of the starting galaxy to be able to get to other galaxies? i.e. do you have to follow the story through to completion first? I’ve still not done much of the Atlas path and all that stuff yet. If so, instead of base building I might just follow the quest lines and get that done, as I’ve heard completing the main quest line essentially dumps you in a new galaxy and resets all your stuff.
The whole variety thing with the planets would fair a lot better if the planets had more of a biome thing going on. Perhaps if they had ice caps or desert and jungle zones, mountain regions, grassy plains etc or a chain of volcanic islands. I’m sure I read they were going to do something like that or already have, but it always seems to me that whatever the biome and conditions are for that planet, it covers the entire thing. So if you land on a planet, you can pretty much see everything it has to offer in that small area. There’s very little point in exploring far once you’ve landed, because 10 miles over the horizon is going to look pretty much like where you’re stood right now. Perhaps they could also vary the conditions under which flora and fauna are found to allow for a greater biodiversity on planets. Planets where you find those Ossified Stars for instance, due to their requirements, look just like all the other planets where you find them.
Still not come across a derelict ship in space yet. Probably just as well as I’m still strapped for cash and don’t yet have any decent fire power or defences. Over 50 hours in and I’m mostly still using all my starter gear and ship, although I do have a free freighter now.
