I went for a walk this morning and then flew over it in MS Flight Sim 20
Looking back east, where I came from:
And in MSF, you can see the path I’m on, a large exposed sand dune to the left of the path in the distance etc
To the south, I had real time weather turned on but clouds didn’t cover the mountains; there was a fair bit of cloud present however:
Towards the west, pretty good; I’m at 300 ft here, as opposed to 50ft on the walk:
The beach itself was blackish for some reason:
Heading back east again. Really impressed with the rendering of the terrain - these dunes aren’t really in a standard strip along a beach, but a kind of weird configuration; for them to be able to automatically do this, and get the textures so close, is amazing.
Overall, I’m really impressed by the way the terrain is done, though I’ve only flown around my county (and there’s a shift from farmland in the east to barren rock in the west that is reflected really well). Love it!
Edit: I mean it doesn’t look its best from 300ft, and isn’t really meant to be viewed from there, but I’ll take it.
