Finally got around to getting coal power up and running. Got 4 coal power plants running constantly now. Decommissioned the biomass burners, so now I don’t have to run around keeping them topped up with biofuel, hurray!
Luckily the required water and coal come from very nearby each other. So I was able to keep the pipe lines and conveyors reasonably tidy. The coal generators require water as well as coal, because you know, steam power.
I love the way they’ve done the pipelines and liquids in this, it’s very good. That fluid buffer over on the left for instance requires head lift, ie your water feed needs to come in at the top height of the tank, otherwise of course it won’t fill to the top. Likewise you don’t want your feed coming out the tank to go up. You can however fit pumps into the pipe system to add extra pressure to pump the water up vertical heights of more than 10m. Luckily my base of operations is downhill from the water source, so I’m not having to worry too much about that yet.
Love the way the pipe went under this tree. Pure luck it happened like that. I thought it looked nice, so I spared the tree from the chainsaw.
Tidied up my copper production lines and just have them feeding into storage containers at the moment. I’m sure I’ll sort out a central container area at some point to bring all the goods from the various lines together in one place.
I going to completely gut these iron ore lines, expand production to about 4 times what I’m doing now and lay them out better, possibly over 3 levels. Not far off unlocking steel production, so I’ll need as much space as I can get.
