Love the shots. Will have to get together again soon for some more GRW madness. We still haven’t done that Predator mission yet.
Anyway I finally fired up Homefront: The Revolution last night after having it languishing in my Steam account for ages. You know what? I quite like it so far. It’s got a really great oppressive atmosphere about it. Kind feels like a cross between Half Life 2 and The Terminator. In fact it kind of makes you wish they’d just junked the whole Homefront franchise and just got the license for The Terminator instead, as it would have been ace then. As it is, the whole North Korea invading the US thing is just utter hokem, even if it is an alternate reality storyline type thing. Wolfenstein’s version of this take on an alternate “what if” reality is far more believable. The whole underground resistance thing feels very good though, and in that respect Homefront’s Philadelphia feels very much like HL2’s City 17. Which is no bad thing, as I loved all that in HL2. The open world thing is quite nice too. Loads of very detailed environments where any copy and paste of assets is quite well disguised or mixed well enough so that you don’t really notice it. Graphics look lovely too; Cryengine, so wouldn’t expect anything less really. I wouldn’t pay the current price for it mind you, I got it in a sale when it had a massive reduction for the game and all the DLC.
