Everspace 2 demo (via Steam), 2560x1440
There are only a limited number of ships available in the demo, and none of that fancy modular ship customisation yet.
The Sentinel is a bit too Wipeout Racer sponsored by JCB looking for me, so I went with the slightly more B5 Starfury looking Assault Fighter.
The demo is limited to one planetary system, but if you zoom out you can see the beginnings of a huge, huge map linked by the old jumpgates.
You have four modes of travel this time; regular flight, booster flight, the much speedier cruise drive, or fire up the jump drive whenever you want now in whatever direction, as opposed to the old Everspace 1 method.
You can sit back and enjoy the flight to your destination, put on the autopilot, or skip ahead. At one point a red warning flashed up to tell me that something was coming for me in flight that would have intercepted me, from what I’ve seen of the gameplay videos, but I reached my destination before I could encounter it.
Good old G&B fighters.
Oh yeah, this is what the in-flight UI looks like by the way. No cockpit view that I could find.
Item rarities I encountered ranged from grey/standard, green/better, blue/even better, to red/rare. Don’t know if there are higher levels again like ultra rare and epic, etc.
I mean this is a joke, but at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if it got implemented in some way.
