Anybody heading to salute this year? Is the social happening same day?

RPS drinks. On Saturday. The Blue Posts, Soho. Table booked from 8. You know what to do.

Come along, in case that wasn’t clear. People invariably turn up before 8, that time is really more a suggestion.
For anyone new (and new people are more than welcome), there are two Blue Posts in Soho. Ours is the one in just off Chinatown.

WraithGB: I’m not sure what Salute is, so not sure if it’s on the same day. The london social is the last Saturday of each month, if that helps you out?

Looking forward to Saturday, this four day week seems to have strangely drained me more than a full working week. It’d be nice round it off seeing some friendly faces, new and old, and make enemies with a game of Resistance or the still unused copy of werewolf I have sat gathering dust since I got it.

It’s looking like the weekend may be good weather. Would anyone fancy a park based meet up? I was thinking maybe Hyde Park on Saturday, as it’s central and easy to get to from most places. Would anyone have any other suggestions?

As for the Social this month, I’ve booked the usual room but the pub had double booked it. They said they’ll try to sort it out so we can have our area as usual, but I still need to double check. For now, we’re working on the assumption that our night will go ahead as usual with our place reserved.

Sunday, board game Sunday!

Some of us RPSers are going to go for a trip to Hyde Park on Sunday for a splendid afternoon. Come along if you’re around. We’re going to try to set up camp just north of the Serpentine boating house.

Here’s a guess at sort of where we’ll be. I’ll probably put a bunch of board games on the ground to signify it’s us and maybe a sign too, in case anyone new turns up. It is with much regret that I announce today’s endeavours is being cancelled because of sneaky untrustworthy British weather. Sorry.

It would appear that the Blue Posts is indeed double booked this month, so no RPS on Saturday I’m afraid. Maybe we should try again with a park meet up? Please do chime in if you’re interested.

Sadly, the Blue Posts is double booked for July too, but Michael has offered us the 17th of July instead, which is a Friday. I took the date so we can at least have something.

I’d be up for park and or other things. It’s pride weekend, so Soho will be packed.

I’d suggest we avoid the Pride weekend crowds by sticking with the original plan for last week and getting a spot in Hyde Park. Central enough to be easy enough for most to get to, but far enough away from Soho that we shouldn’t have much difficulty getting a good spot.

Updates for the social to follow…

The Blue Posts is double booked on our regular night I’m afraid, Michael has offered us Saturday the 18th (i.e. this Saturday), but only from 21:30 as there’s a comedy thing of some sort going on before hand. He has also offered us Saturday 8th August for our night without any timing fidgy-widginess. I’ve said yes to the August night, so we should be fine there, but I’m not sure what to do about Saturday. Take the post-21:30 offer or not?

Any ideas?

I’m going to go ahead and just cancel the half nine offer from the Blue posts for tomorrow. Seems like a bit of faff for just a short meet up.

RPS night cometh…

Confirmed it with the Blue Posts, it’s business as usual for the 8th. Our table is booked from 8pm, they’re happy for us to take over the whole upstairs if needed too. You can of course come early too if you like. Bring any games you like or friends you like too.

There are two Blue Posts in Soho, which has caught people out in the past. Our one is a short walk from Piccadilly Circus, so easy to find. Hope to see you all there.
