Humble Fall VR

Not sure whether I should get this. The only game I know I’l fully play is I Expect You To Die, although I already played most of it through Viveport. And the rest look good, but I’m not sure if I’ll actually play them enough.

But ugh, I’ve been waiting for another decent VR bundle for a while, so I may just indulge myself.

Tempted by this too. I Expect You To Die is the only one I have and I can recommend it as quite a fun one. More from an era of VR being quite experimental and not complete packages, but it is a great example of that period.

I believe Saints & Sinners is meant to be pretty good, as is Raw Data, so probably those 2 alone make it worthwhile.

Agree with everyone on I Expect You To Die, it’s seemingly a can’t-miss bit of good fun.

I’ve only played Raw Data otherwise, which is reasonably decent. It was very impressive for the early days of VR; it gets quite tower defence-y as it goes on. I don’t think I’d pay 8.52 for it on its own, but as part of other tiers, probably good value.

My personal take

The latest edition of the Platinum BYOB is fairly expensive by general bundle standards, starting from a minimum of 10 cu and going all up to 20.

The two lower tiers, with 3 and 5 choices respectively, are equivalent to about 3 cu and change apiece, while 10 choices finally get a discount to around 2 per game.

These are, broadly speaking, favorable prices, relative to ordinary sales, but not so great when the selection and its bundling status are taken into account.

In other words, bundle fiends will certainly find a not inconsiderable range of games they already own or skipped from other bundles, which affects the effectiveness of this bundle negatively.

Nonetheless, there are above games average and getting to 3 or 5 shouldn’t be hard. X-Ray might come useful to avoid duds and focus on the titles that are either attractive or new to bundles.

My personal take

When I first saw the new Humble was called Sweet Farm Fall I instantly assumed it was a different type of bundle; the Northern Hemisphere is diving head first in the cold season and it’s just about the right time to pull out the Stardew Valleys.

Nonetheless, Humble has once again assembled a solid selection here, that seems especially aimed at those who have either missed somehow, or don’t often subscribe to, their flagship offerings.

A Hat in Time, Coffee Talk, Sigma Theory: Global Cold War and Necronator: Dead Wrong are spearheading. Two were only available as Steam keys once on HumbleSubs, while the others are entirely new to bundles. The price is only 10 Euros, less than what A Hat in Time goes for in sales.

BTA, and priced about half-way at this time, has SUPERHOT (regular, non-VR) and Moonlighters, and one new-to-bundle, Chuchel Cherry Edition, including the OST and Artbook.

Buck tier comes with Out There Omega Edition, and ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove.

Nine games, half of which excellent, and for those who haven’t scratched the right names off their wishlists, with either Monthly or Choice, the price is hard to contend with: the top tier alone is worth 40 Euros in sales, while BTA adds another 15 or so.

Great value, but favoring those who are willing to go full in.

Seconded, and its got co-op and workshop support.

Sigma is decent, it plays like a board game, you send out your agents to infliatrate the sigma research of other nations. Think of plague inc for how it plays, its very niche but with Hat In Time, Chuchel, Superhot and Out There, its worth a punt
