I’m reading her treatment now and sadly it has me wondering what kind of point’n’clickers she might have played recently. Take this for instance:
Either that “non-standard for a game like this” hints at something that I can’t quite decode, or.
Also, whatever happened to double-click to run to exit?
I mean, seriously, it’s like the German adventure game-making scene has never quite moved on with the times, always the same cringeworthy, trite ingredients, like a cover band playing for people who just walked out of a suspended animation freezer.
(To think people hated The Whispered World.)
I don’t mean to come across unnecessarily grumpy - I did say coming up with 10+ good games each month would be a tall order, and if this is the price we must pay for knowing the full selection up-front, then OK.
That said, the last three Choice bundles (Feb - Apr) do feel somewhat, and increasingly, ‘peaky’ to me: take away the headliners, and the rest of the line-up seems a little too lightweight.
Neither the quote nor the paragraph that followed were meant to disagree, more like acknowledge what I just called the peakiness for lack of a better word.
May won’t be a repeat for sure, as we’ve now exhausted the supply of never-bundled-before Zachtronics games that aren’t free, with the sole exception of SHENZHEN SOLITAIRE.
