I’d heard of Cardlife and Animal Super Squad. Cardlife might have been an incentive just on its gimmick, but that doesn’t even matter since it “sold out” so early.
Cardlife is yet another Minecraft clone, but the gimmick is that everything is made out of cardboard. The plants, the creatures, yourself, everything. The gimmick of that gimmick is that when you craft something, you actually design how it looks by drawing how it will be cut out of the cardboard.
But Cardlife is also deservedly Early Access. The last gameplay videos I saw, it was rather buggy and features were pretty obviously missing. And, at its heart, it is still a Minecraft clone, even if it is a pretty one. So it isn’t like I’m going to actively spend money on it, even if it is something of an incentive to buy a bundle that contains it.
Animal Super Squad didn’t look particularly amazing when I saw Twitch streamers playing it some time back. Not necessarily bad, just… I don’t know. I’m not adverse to physics-based stunt courses; it just seemed to be missing something.
The others, I’d either never heard of, or had completely forgotten about even after seeing their names. Batalj isn’t even the game, it is just the beta to the eventual game. Kabounce is probably neat, but I’d also guess that it barely has a player base.
shrug Normally it takes a week or more before I even seriously consider buying into a Jingle Jam. Of course these days, that means stuff is already selling out by that point, which reduces my desire to buy in later as well.
