I’m not quite sure where to post this, so I’ll just go with here because we mentioned Twitch only a few posts ago.
For anybody who is seriously convinced <Trump voice>“Steam is a disaster”</Trump>, try a different platform, like Twitch, for instance.
The thing has been around not for a few weeks anymore, and it’s still missing basic functionality, betrays an age old way of thinking about software, such as, the user is not allowed to decide which folder to install games to.
For functionality that is there, it barely works. There is an update to Shadow Tactics, and I’ve been given an ETA of 90 minutes. I thought it was a joke, but 15 minutes later it’s reading “75 minutes left.”
It’s not entirely the same thing as not having the games, but this is only vaguely acceptable because I have a Prime subscription for other reasons. If I had to pay, think I’d be pissed instead of simply underwhelmed.
edit: we just want to be reeaaaally sure your files are fine. You can stare at this for 45 minutes:
edit2: it’s done! so it’s taken hours to apply an update; since Steam would have had the entire game ready in less than 90 minutes starting from scratch, I’m guessing Twitch doesn’t truly do updates.
