This Thursday: But Can You Pet /this/ Dog? Fanatical Fantasy and Refuge Re-Bundle

My personal take
You might be tempted to cast the latest You Can Pet the Dog Humble Bundle off as a mild disappointment, if Fanatical wasn’t saving the day by putting out the inevitable re-bundle, as well as a new, imaginatively titled Fantasy Bundle that’s assembled with some dregs from IndieGalas from 2012/13 - now, dregs might sound harsh, if you weren’t around or paying attention at the time: the various Disciples II games might be worth a punt (albeit not for everybody), but for folks like me it comes across as a throwback to a kind of bundling that I’m not truly feeling any nostalgia for.
But let’s proceed in order, shall we? Just to make things clear from the get-go or whererabouts, I kind of like this latest Humble. Yeah, “surprise-surprise!”, I can hear you saying, but let me explain why?
Blair Witch might be headlining all alone the 10 Euro tier, however BTA, for the price of roughly 4 Euros at this time, is more interesting to me, thanks to Shenmue I & II, Where the Water Tastes Like Wine (whose only fault is having been a freebie on the dreaded Evil Corp Store), and Death’s Gambit, a side-scrolling Souls-like that was not too long ago a Choice.
If skipping mid, buck tier is once again no-complaints zone, with Scribblenauts Unlimited, Beyond Eyes, Dog Sled Saga and Bulb Boy. Unless you own everything already, I’d say it’s worth chipping in, especially for Scribblenauts and Bulb Boy.
Going back to Fanatical, there are definitely worse ways to spend 4 Euros, and perhaps for some of you, my fair but silent readers, it might be even more appealing than the Humble. Or perhaps I’m wrong, and the combination of old games and high repeat counts does kill it for you as well?
Despite it being a re-bundle, I like the looks of Refuge better than Fantasy’s: after all, it does contain Ironcast, Stick It to the Man!, Knytt Underground and Really Big Sky (do you remember that IndieRoyale, too?)
I think my pennies might be going Humble’s way, as the only two games I don’t own and might find interesting from the two Fanaticals are Ironcast and Toren, but those can spend some more time on the back-burner easily. Whereas the Humble does succeed in offering 3 - 5 games that look like worthy additions to my library.
Your move.
