ETS has certainly become more martial since I last gave it a spin! Nice.
It’s almost made for just that purpose. It’s a pretty basic game with a simple mission structure that is copied and pasted a dozen times over the map, with a lot of gear options of questionable value and AI that, while you can make them pretty strong, are still as dumb as they were in the 90s. But it’s also a pretty world to muck around in, and I very much see it as the kind of game I wanted Operation Flashpoint to be all those years ago, in which I’d load up its mission editor and just add random NPCs to towns so me and some friends could have a bit of fun battling with them with tanks, helicopters, the works.
Don’t expect any high level tactical coop gameplay though. It’s dumb, fast-paced even at the second-to-highest difficulty setting and fun.
