My RTX 2070 is dying… Nothing changed hardware wise in my PC (Windows reinstalled just in case), and impossible to game whatever for more than 15 mins, screen blinking black when just on desktop…
Well not great, considering the current GPU situation!
I’m then thinking that it would nearly make more sense to get a laptop.
So here goes my thinking, I’ve got a budget of about 1600 USD top top, and so:
For that (and less), I could get a good 2070/S laptop from last year (my wife uses a Dell Omen 17 which I really love the look of, performs superb, and is quite below that budget)
A maybe lower grade 3060/3070 (TDP story), from for example the ASUS Dash F15 range, laptop from this year.
Is it either way a crazy idea? Keeping in mind that I would aim for 1080p screen anyway, do you think 2070 would be good enough for 2/3 years to come? Or go for a more modern chip in the 3XXX range but which might be a little gimped…
Any input would be great, always lovely to get more opinions!
