What games do you play, again?
Most likely, you don’t need to upgrade your CPU, as the majority of games are limited in their performance by the prowess of your graphics card, not the CPU’s.
If you don’t play CPU bound games, I’d just save the money or spend it on something else.
As for the SSD, it is easier, or more precisely, less work, to add a second unit. Cloning the disk isn’t rocket science, though: just install something like Macrium Reflect and follow the instructions.
Then you can reuse the smaller drive in another system, if there is one in need of an SSD, or use that as secondary storage.
