I registered the username Buzko on RPS on 15 February 2011. I’ve been a very infrequent commenter and forum user, and hadn’t had occasion to look closely at my randomly generated Gravatar until relatively recently. Having done so, I realised that Gravatar’s RNG gave me an image (with brown skin, kinky black hair and big red lips - see attached) I’m not really comfortable attaching to my comments, especially as a white dude. I’d quite like to change it.
However, when I try to log into the Gravatar site (en.gravatar.com) via the WordPress link in the top right, using either the username (Buzko) or email address that I use to login to RPS, WordPress tells me ‘User does not exist.’ Same thing if I ask to reset my password.
The WordPress interface may let me to create a new account with Buzko or the relevant email, but I’ve been loth to do so in case Bad Things happen to my RPS account. They also have an Account Recovery process, but it asks for a Transaction ID, Activation key/URL or two-factor authentication code, none of which I have. Before I try engaging with WordPress, is there anything else you can suggest? I would like to keep my current RPS presence rather than create a new account.
Thanks in advance,
PS. I tried emailing firstname.lastname@example.org about this twice, but haven’t heard anything.
