Renowned Explorers is 67% off on steam at the moment. €6.59 for the base game, €4,94 if you already have Curious Expedition or 65% off for both of them. Renowned Explorers DLC is discounted too and you can get the complete game for €14.01.

Brilliant turn based strategy game with wit and charm. You can romance a goat, or trick a cultist or bash a farmers head in. It takes a while to get used to the combat, and you will lose a lot, but you learn and explore.

If you don’t like to romance goats, then maybe just Curious Expedition on its own is a good bet at 35% off €9.74, much more of a rogue like quest for fame and treasures, less romance and more causing a volanco to erupt when you steal a totem and then entre area go up in flames as you ride away on a dinosaur in the 19th century.

Both good fun games, but the spirit of them is in the story that unfolds with your actions.

The not-Saints Row game Agents of Mayhem (released 15 August) is off -66% at Steam. I take it the reception wasn’t very enthusiastic, if it’s this discounted only two months after release! But perhaps it’s just the usual deep Saints Row discounts making a return.

Either way, could be interesting for those who were hesitant to buy at full price.

Eurogamer posted that the game’s release only managed to reach 4th place on the UK sales charts, against weak competition. That seems to be the only easily findable article about the game’s sales performance, which I guess is something in and of itself.

Kotaku claimed that disappointing sales were connected to the layoff of over 30 Volition employees, including long-employed GM Dan Cermak. (While several sites carried such a claim, they all appear to use the same Kotaku article as their source.)

No co op kind of kills it for me, and the gameplay just didn’t look fun to me. I loved the SR games though, I’ll have to check it out at some point. It’s probably a bundle, or sub $10 gamble for me though.

Downloading now, hopefully it’s good.

Having a free weekend on Steam seems to be becvoming the way to drum up players for your online game it seems. As well as Wildlands and Day of Infamy there’s a small indie game called Inversus Deluxe

Free to try over the weekend, 50% at £5.49 until the 17th.

I couldn’t remember how I’d heard of it, but it turns out it was one of RPS’s Unknown Pleasures

WH40k: Dawn of War 3 is having a free weekend and half off sale, on top of a recent price drop, bringing it down to $20. They recently removed the unlock grind, and it just got a patch with new maps and elite units.
