“Our only plans right now is for PC. We would love to have it on as many platforms as possible” -Game Director of Overwatch, Jeffery Kaplan
That is the answer they gave to the console question asked during the Q&A. (in articles, I was there)
Not sure how it is much different than other shooters and how is it is more gamepad friendly than them. How many buttons do you really need to shoot things?
Far Cry 3:
Move, Sprint, Camera, Melee, Jump, Duck, Reload, Previous Weapon, Heal, INteract, Item A, Item B, Distract, Switch weapons, Aim, Grenade, Shoot, Map, Menu.
What more would you need? All those actions are on the 360 pad.
A B X Y, R1 R2, L1, L2, Up Down Left Right, Options, L3, R3, L Stick (WASD), R Stick (Mouse Aim)
League of Legends barely uses any buttons. Must be console friendly.
Stalker is nearly the same. Maybe a couple extra toggles. They should have ported it to consoles I guess. /sarc
Arena team based FPS focused on easy to learn controls and not have bloat. Like Quake, UT, TF2, etc.
If it will work on console, it will depend on how abilities work, how the gunplay is on the pad. If aim assist is needed or not (would feel out of place I think for this type of game). They certainly are testing it now with the various controllers. on the PC version.
