Of course it is staged. But why would you assume headshots don’t actually do enough damage for one-shot kills?
Because this is done all the time in “gameplay” trailers. Make weapons deal zillion of damage or put some of them low on health, so kills look more dramatic. Especially that this is a Blizzard game, they’re not exactly known for one shot kills and intense, reflex-taxing action. Quite the opposite, I suspect there will be at least 3 characters with arbitrary, explicit resistance to headshots, because that’s how Blizzard does balance (rather than making it feel more organic and emergent). They always want you to play exactly as they want and will come up with damage bonuses and resistances to achieve that. What’s the best unit to counter artillery ? Why, huge, slow-moving, short-ranged Immortals.
I would say Heavy in TF2 simply breaks even.
Is anyone annoyed by the recent trend of having characters in games instead of classes ? I am. I’m not a big fan of classes, but 1) I hate style over substance 2) I don’t give a damn about some guy/girl’s characterisation and attitude because I am playing the game, not him, 3)it almost always ends up with Joe vs Joe, or three Joes in one team. That’s very immersion breaking for me.
I liked how Tribes: Ascend did this, it’s still a colorful and inventive FPS. If it only didn’t have so much grind and pay2win, it would be an okay game.
I hope Dirty Bomb by splash turns out decent, but I’m suspicious after their recent screwups. And the game has been in development forever, almost as if something was wrong with it and it was to be cancelled.
