It was called Apexicon. I only backed it because it had a demo. After the kickstarter was over they kept adding features, and then released another game called Psycrollr on the wiiU that was so negligible that I can’t find reviews for it. They offered WiiU keys for said marginal game and then never updated again. On the plus side, I was doing research and found that the head of the company is a local college dropout. Next time I’m not sure about a game dev I’ll check them out on Linkedin.
Don’t even mind failed campaigns, but I at least like an honest this is how we fucked up post. In one of the games, Knite and the Ghostlights (mourn that one) immigration pulled the Russian programmer. In the other, Wanderer, the dev got UC (which really can get debilitating and expensive fast), and money ran out for the artist who went back to spec work. (Wish they had actually said that in the update).
On the plus side, most of the best games I’ve played in the last five years have come through Kickstarter, including many I’ve backed.
