Hello, I’m back from hiatus and back on my Kickstarter addiction. Some new, some “last minute” Kickstarters. Some might make it, some not.
Ecosystem - a life sim game where you modify an ecosystem and there is simulated evolution and natural selection. Looks a bit like the parts of Spore that were hinted at early but were scrapped. 75% funded, 21 hours to go.
The Good Life, second attempt by SWERY and Yukio Futatsugi, this time on Kickstarter instead of Fig. Dominic Tarason wrote about it on the frontpage. They have lots more gameplay to show now, and thankfully they scrapped the idea of having two different editions, one with dogs and one with cats, with different puzzles and characters. Approaching 50% funded, 23 days remaining.
True Messiah, the cult warefare boardgame by Craig Stern who did the turn based Fire-Emblem inspired Telepath Tactics. He found a printer that could do it cheaper, but Kickstarter don’t allow the creators to lower the goal, so he scrapped the ongoing campaign and started a new one. 75% funded with 53 hours to go, if you like boardgames please check this out because it looks pretty good IMO.
Sentinels of Freedom. VERY inspired by Irrational Games awesome classic Freedom Force games, but turn based instead of real-time with pause. Which is a pretty awesome inspiration, I’ve waited for someone to do this for a long time. Over 100% funded, with 23 days to go.
Myst - 25th anniversary collectors box. 200% funded, 42 days to go. Dominic wrote another front page article about it.
More beloved nostalgia - Oddworld: Abe’s Origins, a hardcover artbook and collectors game box of the classic series that started in the Playstation 1 era… Over 200% funded, 9 days to go.
On Fig, we have Pig Meet Ball, an action-adventure game that mashes up lots of arcade classics and console games like Pong, Q*Bert, Pac Man, Super Mario Galaxy, Katamari Damacy, Super Monkey Ball, and wrap them in a barfing pig wrapping. I think some of the people who did Fat Princess are involved. 4 player co-op couch mode and a level editor. 100% funded, 26 hours left.
Just finished, and barely made it: The best of Point&Clickbait 2016. The satire site, in print.
