Last 48 hours for Blasphemous, the grimdark Castlevania like platformer that Internet wrote about above. Funded 6 times over, so that’s nice.
Pathfinder Kingmaker is 96 % funded with 21 days left.
Flash Point Fire Rescue the turn based tactical game that for once is not about killing orcs with spells or guys in leather with guns. It is 107% funded with 8 days left.
New
Ash of Gods. A Rogue-like RPG with very Banner-saga looking turn based combat, and very nice Banner-saga like art. 75% funded with 4 days to go, might make it but it will be close.
Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Space Odyssey. I applaud the goals of this one, a space exploration game that also teaches astrophysics and hard science. I like the concept art, tickles my inner sci-fi nerd in all the right places. But there are also a lot of warning signs. Extremely ambitious goals: galactic exploration, science research tree and tech design down to vehicle and space-suit level, terraforming a whole planet, alien civilizations - to conflict with presumably, ecology simulation, single-player and coop-multiplayer etc etc, all with a laughably small budget of $300 000. They do write that this budget is not to finish the game, more to create a concept and early prototype that will then be used to get major funding, a risky proposition as some really polished and nearly finished games by industry veterans have failed to get studio backing. No example of gameplay other than at very abstract high-level description. The people involved so far are writers and designers, few programmers or people with long game design experience it seems. Again I like the goals, I would like this to be a success especially since I like NdGT but I rate this as a very high-risk Kickstarter. 32% funded with 39 days to go.
A bunch of interesting looking ones that probably wont’ make it unfortunately -
Sector - a first person cyberpunk noir adventure game. 35% funded, 3 days to go.
Deep Sixed - space survival/exploration. The strategic navigation/layer looks nice, but the gameplay GIFs with wire connecting and ship shooting don’t impress much unfortunately. 33 % funded with 33 hours to go.
Ancient Cities. City builder, starting at the neolithic age, with later eras as stretch goals. 36% funded with 7 days to go.
