Hello everybody !

I’ve been reading RPS for a long time and have occasionally lurked on this forum. I thought it was time to introduce myself properly, I’m French so apologies in advance for any bad grammar or spelling. I’ve been gaming for almost 20 years and despite having less time to devote to my passion than I used to, it’s still an important part of my life.

Howdy folks. I’m Darch, a middle-aged bloke, returning to gaming after a few years away (building a new PC in the next month or so).

I’ve always been a fan of RPS, but I’m only joining the social side of the site now because a) I’ll soon be looking for computer-based compadres to game with on occasion, and b) every other online community I’m a part of seems to be as toxic as all feck.

Anyway, I’ve fairly general tastes, but most of my previous online career was spent in Total War and Left4Dead!

Hi I’m Joe. I’ve played war games since the early sixties. Started with Risk; then Gettysburg, Tactics II, Blitzkreig at Uni, then onto SPI games (42) in the 70s, then Annals of Rome, Civ, Age of Empires et al when computers came along. The best game ever in the entire history of the pastime has to be Empire Total War. I have played well over 7000 hours and am totally addicted. How is it possible that it is considered the worst of the Total War Sagas?

I really liked Empire too - Only a meagre 56hrs played though for me! I think Warhammer TW is probably my favourite in the series now.
