I became extremely comfortable doing both after a certain email, Graham
What I thought made you interesting was not just the design, but the look and feel, the fact that the discussions were still paginated (something you’ve got rid of now on both the main pages and the forums, and infinite scroll is proven to be a bad trick from a psychological perspective because it keeps people flicking downwards without properly absorbing the discussion).
What made you interesting was that the site stood out from every other boring white, sterile, “clean and modern” site by offering something that didn’t require sunglasses to look at for more than a handful of minutes (thank god for dark reader I guess).
Now you really are a reskin of Eurogamer. Even the new logo choices really don’t add up to much, they look chunky, more like graffiti tags rather than something clean and interesting to the eye. Are you really saying to your readers that your best foot forward is the kind of markers burglars scrawl on victims houses as references when they’re casing the place?
