Arena legend review: Anub’arak!
I had one of those drafts you really feel good about. Just a nice rich base of high quality cards with a nice curve, and in this case some solid mech synergy. So, of course, I lost my first two games. First to a really close, tense fight with a Mage, ending in a topdecked fireball. Then to another Mage who played Flamewalker-Coin-Arcane Missiles on turn 3, and finished me off as I clawed my way back with Ronin’s Arcane Missile bonanza. Going on to win the next 8 games felt pretty good, but if I hadn’r run into those two off the bat I might have had a real shot at crossing off Rogue on my 12 wins list. Anyhow…
Old Anub worked out great. I was running a tempo deck, and you always worry about running out of steam before you can finish them off. Anub prevents you from running out of steam. Barring silence (happened once) he is infinite card advantage, and a large threat on the board every turn. If you have space to play him, he can win you the game. That said, silence isn’t the real counter- I lost the first match because of freezing effects and Mirror Images.
I would have had an Onyxia review, but I got her in two seperate drafts, very close together, and never got to play her once in maybe 10 games. I think she was only in my hand once and that time the game ended before I could play her. Sad.
