The Forbidden cards are quite bonkers in Arena, Forbidden Healing aside. The Druid’s Forbidden Ancient in particular is one I’ve tried out, and it is fantastic. You know those times when you awkwardly float mana, and hero power nothing in particular? How would you like an acceptably statted body instead? Top deck it late in the game? It’s just the giant body you were looking for to close things out. I’m looking forward to trying the Priest’s Forbidden Shaping.
For an expansion that is very constructed focused, for obvious reasons, it’s shaping up to be a nice, healthy change for the Arena meta. Most welcome. Short version: not many low cost solid-on-curve minions, and a neutral taunt at pretty much every mana cost. Notably slower and more board focused. Not curving out when your opponent does doesn’t always lose you the game. Some really solid, interesting card design, despite a lack of flash. Current pleasant surprise: Corrupted Seer. Handy little equaliser.
Arena Legend Review- My first run (Druid) had Y’Shaaargh in it. Fun card, and game winning if you’re both playing slowly. If you’re getting swarmed it’s another chance to draw a good taunt, assuming you have one. Otherwise, too big and too slow.
I picked up Bolvar in one of my rare Pally runs, ongoing. He’s very dependent on when you draw him. Still, my deck has two Musters and a Stand Against Darkness, so he can get pretty big.
