This week’s Epic game is Samurai Shodown Neogeo Collection, promoting the Epic release of the PC port of SamSho 2019. ARK was apparently supposed to be last week’s game, but was delayed to this week to coincide with some ARK event?
Samurai Shodown Neogeo Collection isn’t just a cheap emulation job of the old arcade Neogeo Samurai Shodown titles, it is a rather polished emulation job. Allegedly decent netcode, its online play is also supposed to be compatible with the Steam version that releases next week (but not the console versions that release later this month.) Nice museum mode with a ton of concept art from the various games, etc. Basically, the kind of higher end commercial emulation jobs that we sometimes used to get.
I think the free ARK expansion maps and mod kit are always free. They don’t list a sale period the way the main game does. Checking Steam, they are all free there as well. Price history site says they’ve always been free as well. So I guess you aren’t in a rush to grab them (particularly if you don’t really intend to play ARK anyway), unless you want to be particularly cautious?
