It is a very nice indie (pausable) real-time tactical RPG kind of affair, yeah. For the price of free, certainly worth grabbing. I got bogged down during gameplay somewhere down the line, which need I stress it once again tells you nothing about the game, and all about my gaming habits. If I recall, it is not undemanding. At around the same time, some game changes were introduced which I thought would likely merit starting over, which I never got around to.
With its lovingly handcrafted environments and over 50 hours of gameplay as the devs claim (that wouldn’t at all surprise me, or possibly a lot more if you really get into it. I see now I got to 30, and didn’t feel like there was any sort of end in sight. Granted, I’m far from the fastest of players, but with its various classes and builds and combinations thereof I reckon it’d be highly replayable, too), I’d certainly recommend it to fans of the genre, and certainly at any sort of discount.
If that little stylized icon doesn’t represent Death (Darksiders II’s protagonist and one of the four horsemen, to the uninitiated), I’ll eat my Despair (his horse, ditto). The Darksiders games I’m also a fan of, btw – and have likewise never gotten around to finishing yet, heh. Nevertheless, recommended!
ps, Edit: Ohhh look, what’s better than a Darksiders game? Two Darksiders games, lol Plus Steep, indeed. Also, Epic’s holiday sale gets an encore week, but that seems only to be expected these days.
