He’s having his cake and not eating it!
Personally I’m grabbing all the freebies I can get, and I’ve already played a couple of them. (I’d have played more if I hadn’t gotten sidetracked by Origin Access and Apex Legends and, uh, work.)
I loved/love Braid and The Witness always looked lovely in screenshots, so I’d wanted to try it for ages… but its price stayed pretty high until very recently. So getting a freebie of it is great.
I actually started on it in the Origin Access trial, and found it… not so amazing. But it’s nice to have it available to play any time I like. (I wonder if save games are transferable so i don’t have to start again?)
Plus hell yeah! next free game is Transistor.
I had my fingers crossed that that game would show up as a freebie at some point, as I also loved Bastion.
Say what you want about Epic’s business practices, but they’ve made a very nice selection of games / studios / freebies.
Not sure that was necessary, but basically every website is doing stuff like this because every website wants to know where their customers come from, what they’re interested in and probably do A/B testing to see which designs are most effective.
PS/ Since they seem to be going through my wishlist, I’d like Outer Wilds, Journey, Flower, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw and Farcry Primal free next please.
