I got excited about Lego The Hobbit, since my daughter has been having a great time with Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 and we’ve almost finished it now (and I love The Hobbit).
Then I realized:
(a) It’s based on the movies.
(b) There are likely to be almost zero female playable characters in the story.
© They never finished it.
Being based on the god-awful movies is usually a clear negative, but in this case it might mean a female character pops up occasionally (Tauriel, Galadriel) and being unfinished might not really matter as the 3rd movie was basically just one big unceccessary battle scene that wasn’t in the books anyway.
The other problem I’ve run into with the Lego games is that they basically SPOILER everything, so I feel like if I want her to enjoy the book, I shouldn’t play the games yet. If I want her to enjoy the Star Wars movies or the LotR movies, I shouldn’t play those with her either.
Happy to get Full Throttle…
