In Firewatch you play a middle aged man coming to terms with his life who has decided to leave the city to take up a job on a Firewatch tower in a national park for the summer. Your only connect to the world is by walkie talkie with Delilah in another tower, and you start to explore some story threads about previous people that stayed in the tower while talking about your issues.
Its also a really beautiful calming world to walk around in.
I like the note that is on the sale page “A Note: Firewatch is a video game about adults having adult conversations about adult things. If you plan on playing with a younger gamer, that might be good to know going in.” I think that is a big selling point on the story, it respects you as an adult and its a grown up game.
