I also went back to Dead Cells. Opus Magnum was giving me a headache, rampaging through monsters is a good antidote for that. Strangely, first I had to ‘buy’ the free DLC from GOG. Then I had to manually update the game even though automatic updates were enabled; it was stuck on the version from seven months ago. No wonder I was so bored with it.
There are definitely a lot of changes I like, and I had the idea to start another save file to get a better sense of how the game progresses now. So I started from zero and did two runs, both of which ended with the Hand of the King. Typical. Still, I’m having a lot more fun than last time, so I might stick with it.
Edit: Okay, here’s what I don’t understand: to open the doors that require killing x monsters without getting hit, do I need to get from 0 to x and take no damage in the entire level? Or does the counter reset to 0 whenever I get hit, and allow me to kill another x monsters to unlock it?
They definitely upped the bullshit-factor of Elites since I last played. I could deal with the minions, and I could deal with the random AoE effects or shield crystals, but all of those at once? Give me a break.
