I can see all of the people moaning that it looks just like more Dark Souls already. And, yes, they aren’t wrong. I find it hard to complain too much about that though and I’ll be satisfied if they can just transplant that successfully into an open world environment.
The only thing I would hope that they have learned from Sekiro is giving the player a few more movement options and opening up the level design to accommodate that. My favourite part of Sekiro was the Fountainhead Palace section, where it played out on three different levels - underwater, ground level and the rooftops. Combat would take place across these in a really satisfying way and it would be good to see some of that here too.
We aren’t being shown much in the way of character abilities, but you seem pretty nimble on the horse and you appear to be able to summon that at will, so maybe that is going to be possible to incorporate into your combat somehow and help reach new places to escape or attack from another angle.
Now I have to decide whether I want to hide from new info as much as possible or give into the temptation of looking at every nugget that comes out. It’s always great to go into a From Software game as blind as possible. I still remember the excitement of somehow getting my copy of DS3 a week before release and finding all these untouched areas for the first time.
