As a matter of fact, I have. Good times. I also killed the Greatwood thanks to a glitch. His second phase never triggered on my 5th or so attempt and I could just wale on his egg-crotch. The Stray Demon on the bridge was also weird. I tried to lure him with arrows, but he went into a corner and sulked while I took him out with more arrows.
Made my way through the swamp to Farron’s Perimiter (the last bonfire before the boss), and through the Cathedral. I killed the first giant with an extra helping of cheese - arrows, fire bombs, and when all that ran out, throwing knives. I fought the other normally, after I got rid of the slimes around it. The knight at the altar gave me grief, till I realized I could take him out with arrows, too, because he leashes hard when you retreat behind the stairs at the pulpit (where you fight the second giant).
A viewer commented that I play the game like a stealth game, which apparently is unusual. I tend to scout an area carefully. Look at what enemies I can make out/hear, and then puzzle out how I can take them out with minimum risk (which usually involved bow/arrow to draw them out or kill them at range). I also manage to to avoid certain ambushes this way, and while my progress is slower I also seem to die way less often than other players.
I’m currently taking a short break, though. Dark Souls games make me very tense when I explore new areas, so I get exhausted quickly.
