Ok, So for movies I think It’ll have to be Guardians 2. It was just so much fun.
(Thor Ragnarok comes in close second, due to being almost the same.
Does Rogue One count, on the basis I saw it last december?
Wonder Woman is up there too, but the final cgi-fest knocked off a few points
I just remembered Lego Batman too. It’s been a great year for funny superhero movies)
I got nothing.
I seem to have watched a lot of shows that turned out fine, and lots of second seasons that were ok but not as good as the first.
Dollhouse S1, Killjoys S2, Iron Fist, Defenders, Stranger Things S2, Into the Badlands, ST: Discovery, etc were all perfectly enjoyable, but none blew me away.
I might have to go with Game of Thrones just by default, although even that series wasn’t quite as good as some previous ones. Dr Who had a few good episodes, but not consistently.
Screw it, I’m going with Spartacus, because I finished it this year and it was better than all those others.
(Our Girl and Line of Duty both surprised me, but seeing as I haven’t finished either yet, I’m not sure they’re The Best yet).
(Defenders was one of the better ones, but also one of the bigger disappointments. It almost wins due to more Jessica, but doesn’t win due to not being JJ S2.)
This category, at least, is easy. I didn’t get time to read many books, and while I did finally finish a couple of classics that I’ve been meaning to read for decades, none of them were mind-blowing.
A long way to a small angry planet was just a pleasure to read… fun and inventive, but also a nice place to be and nice people to be with.
I’ve listened to more music this year than in the last couple of years, but since it was all on spotify I haven’t really been listening to albums as much, and it’s all blurred into one a little. I’m not sure any album made a huge impression on me, and I was partly catching up on things I’d missed over the past few years.
Nothing really springs to mind…
