Aerothorn, yes, the way SP works it’s taxing to your SSD. Though, it’d be so to any kind of drive although it’s more of a concern for SSDs.
I believe it’s a more general question what you can and what you want to do with your hardware, especially your SSD. This can’t last very long theoretically but if you look at the expected life time of a SSD I believe you should treat it as regularly as any other piece of your hardware since you’re going to replace it with a newer technology anyway (sooner or later). At least that’s what I decided for my computer parts.
Also, it helps to have a bigger sized SSD from the get go and to generously apply overprovision to your drive.
