Anyone tried the new Cobra Kai beat em up?

Not really a fan of the art style from what I’ve seen but looks like the kind of gameplay and stuff that I might enjoy as a Streets of Rage fan. It kinda looks like they’re going for more of a tournament fighter kinda moves, which might not translate well in a beat em up unless the controls are excellent.

Lot of positive steam reviews but I’ve been burned before by going on those. It’s only 20e but really should save my money for something not so cheesy. Already bought Going Ujnder(which is great) too, not looking to spend any more on video games but god do I love me some cheese sometimes. Please convince me to save my money.

My reaction was similar to yours. Didn’t like the art style at all (it’s weird, it’s not like an '80s or even '90s or '00s beat-em-up, more like a flash game crossed with with a Playstation 3 game), and the price is high enough that I’m not willing to risk it, so I’d say save it for a sale, unless someone comes in to say it’s amazing. I also don’t trust the reviews, especially as none of them really made it sound that great.

I’d have preferred a Final Fight or Streets of Rage style thing in a 16-bit style. Would fit the retro style of the show as well.

Yeah when I heard it existed I automatically assumed it was going to be Streets of Rage-looking, maybe the art not as sharp as the fantastic SoR4, but like, instead the art style is… unique? I guess that’s the nicest thing I can say.

Looks like someone made a beat-em-up mod for the Sims. It’s very clean and “nice”.
