I’m having memory losses on pointing out the episodes but I think I pretty much got everthing up till episode seven. I’m not a writer or anything but I think I can write pages on the whole package of lame and trite.
Let’s try to go past some point first: I’m not sure but these are probably the same AoT guys since the art is very similar. Haven’t bothered with checking things out. And AoT is an evangelion rip off. Like dozen others and I have a good part of developments, wrongs, badongs, up and downs ingrained in my mind because so many popular things are influenced from it and since I’m no critic or anything I have to pick my favourite moments I wish to feel and then I end a show and forget it existed.
So, point 1) mumei hasn’t regressed at all, instead she starts at a very low point because this is a way to do a lot of painfully long and basic character development to fill episodes. The whole reason she’s a kid is it for you to buy in her unexperience with people so they drop this butterfly imagery to tell you she had a ruined childhood or something - a clichè or whatever but personally I’m putting this aside for zombie murdering so I’m frustrated just as you are from the lack of motion. Another reason is to mirror the main male lead so that you can see the show is talking about very similar people who are taking different paths to deal with similar if identical issues. So with the low point of character development we might as well talking about idiot kids for now: if you ever watched kill la kill the highschool setting might as well work for a fascist thing or medieval japan if you want to make fun of anime show. And finally, the progression of her character is in your face: she is called a weapon and convinced she’s be thrown away if otherwise, she says things like it’s good the dog died before being thrown away, she fucks up the main dude plan to prove her worth and goes on rampage, she ends up miserable and learns things. Is this incredible stuff worth losing shit for, no it isn’t but it has a consistency or at least I can’t think of any contradiction from what I remember (I’m too busy to think atm). I know it’s boring crap.
point 2, the princess girl, episode 4 yeah those 3 dudes make a parallel with eva’s military dudes being useless because they can’t fight the zombies no matter whatever army they have. I agree they suck but they can be used for paranoia because this is zombie apocalypse material. Actually humans but meh I won’t spoil the whole thing, it’s not written in stone yet.
also, I’m dropping this for the moment but do you feel like betting for the last 6 episodes?
-mumei learns not to be dependent from bro’s affection (do you see kaji’s character split in two here?). Also occasional double agency until she find out about what zombies are and where they are from
-main guy’s motivations for saying/ promising/ doing anything are questioned, because he’s messed up from this dead sister thing. Maybe there was a way to save her or whatever.
-princess girl loses the blue dude and sacrifices herself at some point, to prove she was better than her father (it’s slightly different)
-the final station is where zombies are made and where the whole train population dies
-stuff I forgot
Ofc 6 episodes is not enough, Idk if this show will ever get a second season, I don’t expect things to end this bleak.
